Laura Woodruff

Laura Lee Gokey Woodruff, 65, went to be with the Lord, Friday, February 6, 2015 at home. Laura was born August 17, 1949 in St. Regis Falls, NY. She grew up on the family farm as a young child and later moved to Cortland, NY. where she attended St. Mary's Catholic School. Laura later moved to Texas and returned back to school to graduate with a degree in nursing. She retired as a nurse in August of last year and was enjoying her retirement. Laura was a vibrant, beautiful person and loved deeply. She loved being a wife, mom, grandmother, sister, daugther and friend to all those around her. Laura was full of compassion for others and gave freely to all she came in contact with and in one word was a caregiver. She loved to ride her horse and she loved her church and her home that her and Kenny built together. She was preceded in death by her father, Lionel Gokey, brother, Lionel Gokey Jr., and a nephew, Jason Monaco. Laura is survived by her husband of 21 years, Kennith Woodruff; daughter, Christine Cottom; mother, Elua Gokey; sisters, Linda (James) Monaco, Lana Gokey, Lynne (Dominick) Puzo, Louise (Michael) McAllister, Lorraine (Daniel) Tracy and Lisa (John) Behler; brother, Lee Gokey; grandchildren, Brayden and Molly Benton; and extended family.
