Jerry Wood

Jerry Wayne Wood, 86, passed into the arms of Jesus, Friday, March 21, 2025 in Decatur with his daughter, Rhonda by his side. He was born May 12, 1938 to Lindsey Wood and Bernice (Suggs) Wood in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sandra Wood; son, Randy Wood; and sister, Peggy Roberts. Upon graduation, Jerry married the mother of his children, Sue. He joined the US Air Force where he became a jet engine mechanic. Upon exiting the Air Force he became a truck driver. After retiring from driving he discovered snow skiing as his passion and became an instructor in Colorado for seven years. Jerry is survived by daughters, Deanna Levall and husband Kenneth, Rhonda Schraub; son, Doug Wood; sisters, Dee and husband, L E Stith, Pat O’Kane; brother, Bill Wood, many grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Jerry will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
