On February 3, 2022 our loving mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend, Sarah Wirl (76), passed away at her home in Boyd, Texas with family by her side.
Sarah was born December 11, 1945 in Socorro, New Mexico to Ralph and Helen Jojola. Sarah was the oldest of 6 siblings.
Sarah happily married Charlie (aka Mr. C) Wirl in 1992. They shared a wonderful 24 years together, always traveling and tackling new adventures side by side.
Sarah’s favorite hobbies were cooking, crafting, traveling and watching her granddaughters’ sporting events. She loved finding new recipes on Pinterest. A few family favorites were lemon cookies and 7 layer dip. Her real passion was card making and she made many friends through her love of the hobby. You could always count on her to have a beautiful hand made card for every occasion. Sarah was very thoughtful and often times made goodie bags for her son and granddaughter’s coworkers as well as cooked meals for her granddaughter’s softball team. Sarah loved taking road trips and visited many states around the US. She had the best memory and could remember any directions without a map.
Sarah is survived by her two sons, Eric (Tina) Tamayo and Anthony (Georgina) Tamayo; sisters Mary Ellen Barger, Debbie Jojola, Claudia Jojola and brother Charles Jojola; granddaughters Lauren, Brittany, Paige, Danielle and Joie. She also had 5 great grandchildren, 1 niece and 6 nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Charlie Wirl; her parents Ralph and Helen Jojola and her brother Danny Jojola.
Sarah will be dearly missed by all. A celebration of her life will be held in the spring.
