Wiley "Sam" Samuel Dean Martin, 86, was embraced by the love of his family as he made his journey to join our heavenly Father, Friday, November 14, 2025. Born on February 17, 1939, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Dean and Anna Martin, Wiley lived a life rich in love and laughter.
Wiley fondly reminisced about his days working for the Texas Highway Department, often sharing stories of the road trips he cherished with his grandchildren. He had a passion for the great outdoors, finding joy in fishing and hunting, as well as a fervent desire to pass on his knowledge and passions to his children and grandkids.
Faith was a cornerstone of Wiley's life. He cherished the time spent reading his Bible and was dedicated to attending services, even embracing the comfort of worship through television when unable to be physically present.
Wiley was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Dean and Anna; his loving wife, Alma Crumbley Martin; brother, James Martin; sister, Carolyn Johnson; children, Samuel Jr. Martin, James Martin, and Andrea Martin; and his beloved granddaughter, Xenia Martin.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience, survived by his devoted daughter, Sheri Martin; his cherished grandchildren, Bethani, Erik, Jesse, Joey, Jimmy, and Sondra; and a host of great-grandchildren, including Jaci, Christian, Evelyn, James, Erik, Abi, Kassidy, and Killian.
Wiley's spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He will be lovingly remembered for the warmth he brought to every conversation, the wisdom he shared, and his everlasting faith.
