Retired Air Force Col. Vincent S. Wilcox, 59, passed away Sunday, Dec. 20, 2015, from liver failure, a complication of ulcerative colitis. Memorials: May be made to Donate Life Texas. Vince grew up in New Gloucester, Maine, graduated from the Air Force Academy, graduated at the top in his class from navigator school, and flew as an F-4 weapons system operator (WSO) while stationed in West Germany and South Korea. He served in the Air Force Reserve many years until 2008, in the 301st Fighter Wing, first as a 457th Fighter Squadron F-4 D/E WSO and finally as the 301st Civil Engineering Squadron commander. Vince earned a professional engineer license, an MBA, and recently an oil and gas technology degree. He was a principal operations analyst for Lockheed Martin for 27 years. Vince enjoyed motorcycle and bicycle riding, his cat Kiki, day hikes, Hawaii, eating out, and harvesting pumpkins at his brother's New Gloucester farm. Survivors: Siblings, Adeline of Beltsville, Md., Richard of West Caldwell, N.J., and Carl of New Gloucester, Maine; five nieces and nephews; and his dear friend, Amy Schrick and her children, AJ and Daniel, of Fort Worth.
