Nellie Wheiles

Nellie “Irene” Cook Wheiles, 88, passed away, Wednesday, February 3, 2021 in Decatur. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date in Vashti Cemetery. She was born June 18, 1932 in Boxley, Arkansas to Eddie and Jewel Jane (Armer) Cook. They both preceded her in death along with her husband, L.D. Wheiles; sons, Franklin D., Henry L. and Anthony Worth; daughter, Brenda Irene Worth and several step brothers and sisters. Irene enjoyed spending time with her grandchlidren, going out to eat, to the theater and junkin. She liked watching the Mavericks play basketball. She is survived by her daughters, Wilma Cearley and husband, Lyn and Glenda Watts; sisters, Betty Littrell; grandchildren, Michelle, Heather, Brian, Michael, Frankie, Misty, Price, Daniel and Kayla; several great, great great and great great great grandchildren.
