Wales Franklin Jones, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2026, in Jacksboro. Born on December 27, 1952, in McKinney, Texas, Wales’s life was marked by his enduring warmth and love for his family and those around him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wales Jones and Alta Marie (Ruyle) Jones; brother, Roger Jones, and grandson Coby Jones
Throughout his life, Wales dedicated himself to his career in construction in the gas and oil industry. His work was not just a profession but a reflection of his steadfast commitment and hard-working spirit. Yet, beyond his professional achievements, it was his role as a family man that truly defined his legacy.
Wales was a warm and loving presence in the lives of many. He is lovingly survived by his wife, La Nelda (Sherman) Jones, with whom he shared a life filled with deep affection and partnership. His children—Christina Jones and her husband Marvin Williams, Frankie Jones and his wife Shae, Duke Battenfield and his wife Kathy, “Lil” Frankie Jones, Jessica Jones, and Caden Jones—carry forward the values and love he instilled.
His brother, Leroy Wall, and his wife, Charlet, along with his sisters Beth Evans and her husband Jackie, and Patricia Jones, remember him as a cherished sibling whose warmth enriched their lives. The breadth of Wales’s family extended further to numerous grandchildren—Marissa, Charla, Gage, Logan, Ransom, Kaitlyn, and her husband Dylan, Dustin and his wife Haleigh, and Kourtney and her husband Luke—each of whom carried a part of his loving spirit. His joy also extended to his great-grandchildren: Angell, Arianna, Casey Jr., Casen, Stetson, Remi, Elliot, Kali, Grayson, and Weston, who brought him happiness and pride.
Wales Franklin Jones leaves behind a legacy of love, tireless dedication, and family unity. His life touched all who knew him, and though his passing leaves a profound void, the memories of his kindness, humor, and strength will continue to inspire and comfort his family and friends.
May his soul rest in peace, and may those who loved him find solace in the enduring bonds and beautiful memories he has left behind.
