It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Victor Paloma Osteguin, age 74, who left us on May 9, 2025, in Decatur. Born on February 1, 1951, in Mexico, Victor was the beloved son of Francisco and Juana Paloma Osteguin, who have both preceded him in death along with sisters, Maria Lopez; son, Vincent Leonard; daughter, Ninfa Lopez; and grandson, Shawn Lopez.
Victor's life was filled with joy and fulfillment. He cherished his time working in his yard and enjoyed tinkering in his shed, activities that brought him great happiness. A passionate sports fan, Victor was a devoted supporter of the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers. He found pleasure in his favorite beverage, Coors Light, but nothing brought him more joy than the moments he spent with his family.
He is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 47 years, Rose Mary Osteguin, and their children: Shirley Herrera, Sarah Jackson, Blanca Lopez, Liandro Lopez, and Vicky Lopez, along with her husband, Guadalupe. Victor’s legacy also lives on through his grandchildren: Curtis Keener and wife, Rosa, John Rodriguez and wife, Amber, Cecilo Rodriguez and wife, Renee, Alicia Campos and husband, Cody, Monica Delgado and husband, D, Kayla Trujillo and husband, Luis, Tim Greer, Victor Matthew Carter and wife, Kamryn, Jacob Carter, Makeeda Keener, Eli Lopez, Kinsley Lopez, Anthony Lopez, Xavier Hernandez, and Bridget Leary. He also leaves behind several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and great-great-great-grandchildren, all of whom will miss him dearly.
As we remember Victor, we honor a man whose love for his family was boundless. His spirit and warmth will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
