Taressa Kayle Mathis, age 63, of Springtown, TX, went to meet her Lord Jesus on June 1, 2026, surrounded by family. Born on February 23, 1963, in Russellville, AR, to Wallace and Janie Street, graduated from Springtown High School in 1981, and went on to work as a Paralegal and Document Specialist. She had the joy of falling in love and marrying Barry Mathis on June 6, 2015. They loved spoiling their grandchildren and traveling.
Taressa lived a life defined by kindness, serving others, and an unwavering love for family. She was a skilled seamstress who rescued many a bride with her incredible talent for making and altering dresses. She sewed countless dresses and unique custom costumes for her grandchildren. She was an excellent cook who blessed her family with an elaborate Thanksgiving meal every year. She made every grandchild’s birthday magical with special cakes and decorations. She was a bright, shining light of love to all those around her. She will forever be missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wallace Street and Janie Fultz, and Stepfather David Fultz, Mother-in-Law Annette Mathis, and Brother-in-Law Darrell Mathis.
Taressa is survived by her husband Barry Mathis; children, David Young and wife April, Derek Young, Marcus Mathis, Macey Melton and husband Casey, Myranda Mathis; grandchildren, Travis, Trevor, Trinity and Violet Young, Callen, Jayce and Jett Melton, Zayne and Zaylee White; Stepmother Shelby Sory, Sister Sondra Street, Brother Wally Street and wife Dena, Brother Eric Street, Sisters-in-Law Debra Cozart and husband Larry, Beverly Leatherwood and husband Maynard, and Sheri Mathis; Several nieces, nephews and more friends than anyone could count.
