David Smith Sr

David Bruce Smith Sr., 66, passed away, peacefully, Tuesday, December 31, 2024. He was born July 5, 1958 in Hurst, Texas, where he grew up. David graduated from L.D. Bell High School. He married twice and was father to two children, David Jr. and Stephanie, and cherished grandfather to Emily Grace. He is also survived by his wife of 36 years, Carolyn; his brother. Bill; and sister, De’one.
David was co-owner of American Dream Flag & Banner, which he started with his wife Carolyn in 1996. He was proud of the work he did and known for his diligence, ingenuity, and attention to detail.
David spent over 25 years living on the land that he loved so much, finding comfort and peace in the quiet beauty of nature. He often spoke of the joy he found in taking long walks to the nearby creek, savoring the simple pleasures of the outdoors. This deep connection to nature was an important part of his life, bringing him solace and a sense of tranquility.
