Shirley Jean Bates Hamilton was born on October 1, 1950, and entered into eternity with her Lord and Savior at 74 years old on July 6, 2025. Her husband and family surrounded her with love and comfort. Shirley is preceded in death by her grandfather, Tommy Williamson; grandmother, Ruby Williamson; father, Bobbie Bates; mother, Ruby Railton; sister, Linda Haines; brother, Jr. Oliver; granddaughter, Jysica Taylor. Shirley is survived by her loving, devoted husband of 60 years, Lee Wayne Hamilton; Daughter, Brandie Gibbs, and daughter,
Tania Taylor, and husband, Gary Taylor. Grandchildren: Sereniti Kotera and husband Steve Kotera, Shantella Dahl and husband John Dahl, April Phillips and husband Bradley Phillips, and Kelsea Knapp and husband Timothy Knapp; great-grandchildren (12), Nathaniel Hamilton, Nolan Poteete, Jaimea Phillips, Brody Stevens, Cooper Phillips, Cadence Dahl, Shayne Knapp, Jameson Dahl, Hazel Knapp, Waylon Knapp, Jack Dahl, and Silas Kotera; great-great
grandchild, Cash Poteete; many nieces and nephews. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Azle. Shirley dedicated her life to being a devoted & loving Christian, Wife of 60 years, Mom, Granny, and GG. Shirley loved the Lord, her husband, family, and adventure, nothing more, nothing less. She enjoyed having fun, like the State Fair of Texas, theme parks, celebrations with the whole family, and many other adventures, including Ziplining at 72! Shirley's friendly, fun-loving servant's heart will be deeply missed by those who knew her. However, we celebrate with her that she is with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
