Jack Sherwood

Jack David Sherwood, 86, passed away Friday, March 28, 2025 in Decatur. He was born March 17, 1939 to Cecil Sherwood and Martha (Wilson) Sherwood in Fort Worth. Jack was preceded in death by his parents; wife, of 57 years, Hazel Marie Sherwood; brothers, Oscar Sherwood and Howard Sherwood; sisters, Cindy Dooley and Loyce Sherwood.
He worked for many years as a carpenter and was last employed by Alvord Schools. Jack was a quiet man with a soft voice and calmness about him. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and working with horses.
Jack is survived by his son, Jack Dewayne Sherwood and wife Christie of Alvord; grandson, Jordan Ray David Sherwood and wife Stephanie of Waco;granddaughter, Emma Rose Sherwood of Alvord; brother, Perry Sherwood and wife Betty;sisters, Joyce Tow, Shirley Vance and Barbara Sherwood, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Jack will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
