Robert Lane Shearer, 57, a loved brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend passed away from cancer, on Sunday, March 6th, 2016, at a Fort Worth Hospital, with family by his side.
The youngest of 6 children, Robert was born in Azle on September 12, 1958 to Eartis and Anna Ketcham Shearer. He graduated from Azle High School in 1977 and was a talented carpenter/cabinet maker by trade. He was an avid outdoorsman/sportsman/hunter who spent many a day at the deer lease with his brothers, nephews, cousins and friends. He was a man of many hobbies and talents, including fishing, bow hunting, woodworking, lure making and arrowhead collecting and he sure could make a tasty campfire, tin foil, hobo dinner. He took great pleasure in giving everyone in the family a gift for Christmas. He was a good friend and mentor to his nephews, who thought he was pretty awesome (as well as his nieces) and they all will dearly miss him.
His parents and a niece, Chy Myers Shearer, preceded him in death. He is survived by and will be greatly missed by; brothers, Kenneth, Eddie (Sharon) of Azle and Guy (Donna) of Springtown; sisters, Nada and Olga, of Azle; nephews and nieces, Chad, Ryan (Carrie), Trey (Jeniffer) Shearer, Ashley Arellano, Dalley (Aaron) Galuzzi and Andrew (Cherie) Saunders; great-nephews and nieces, Jase, Skyler, Kenzie, Everly, Coltyn, Hunter, Gatlyn, Anna, Ethan, Evan, Owen, Sienna, Noelle and River; aunts, Luella Shearer of Azle and Pauline Naney of Colorado; uncle, Bob and aunt Irene Hasenack of Colorado; dear friend Gail Glover of Corpus Christi and numerous cousins and friends who were as close as brothers.
A special gratitude and thanks to Nada, Guy and Donna who so lovingly and tirelessly gave of themselves for their brother’s care and comfort during his time of need.
