Shaun Alan Waits

Shaun Waits, born on February 20, 1970, in San Jose, California, passed away on May 31, 2026, following a motorcycle accident near Bridgeport in Wise County. Shaun was the beloved son of Greg and Gail (Pereira) Waits.

He honorably served in the United States Marine Corps in San Diego as a helicopter mechanic. Throughout his life, Shaun pursued various careers with dedication, including crab fishing in Oregon, hauling hay, and working as an oversize truck driver in Texas. More recently, he shared his skill and passion for craftsmanship by making cabinets alongside his family members.

Shaun was a cherished member of the Poolville Church, where he found community and fellowship. He is lovingly survived by his parents; his children, Robin Carlson, Tyler Waits, Shelby Waits, and Everett Waits; step-children, Eddie and Malisa; brothers, Brandon Waits and Brock Waits; grandchildren, Lily, Summer, Daisy, Cannon, Carmin and Grayson; and a great grandson, Asa.

Shaun’s life was marked by hard work, family devotion, and service. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
