Ruby Shackelford

Ruby “Evelyn” Shackelford, 94 a former longtime resident of Portales, N.M. and most recently a longtime resident of Azle, passed away, Saturday, December 12, 2020 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. She was born, March 7, 1926 in Azle to Theodore R. and Vennie (Sisk) Trammell. They both proceeded her in death along with her husband of 49 years OD "Bud" Shackelford, sisters, Alma Jones and husband Stanley and Monnie Garrett,  brothers, RV Trammell and Gary Mac Trammell and grandchildren Buddy Clayton Shackelford and Christina Lane. Evelyn worked in Portales as a bookkeeper for Shackelford Construction.  After Moving to Azle in 1990 she worked in the children's department of Ash Creek Baptist Church taking care of infants and toddlers.  She was an avid quilt maker and loved to bowl. She is survived by her sons Harold J. Shackelford and wife Linda and Elbert Shackelford and his wife Linda.;  sister, Neoma Ward and husband, Walter; brother-in-law, Lynn Garrett; as well as grandchildren, Nova, Derek, Brooke, John, and Cynthia; 20 great grandchildren and 14 great great grandchildren.
