Sara Lender

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Sara Lender. Sara was born on October 4, 1943, in West Newton, Pennsylvania, and passed away peacefully on July 22, 2026, at the age of 82, with her daughters by her side.

Sara’s pride and greatest joy in life was her family. She lived every single day for her grandchildren. There wasn’t a game she didn’t attend, a milestone or special moment she didn’t want to celebrate. Nothing made her happier than cheering on her grandchildren from the sidelines and celebrating their every accomplishment, big or small. She was the heart of our family. Her smile and sparkling eyes could light up a room, her humor was priceless, and she always found a way to make everyone around her feel special and smile too. Her unconditional love and positivity were gifts she shared with everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Sara had a passion for gardening and was truly the green thumb of our family. Her beautiful succulents and rose garden were her hobby and greatest joys. Sara was a successful business owner and operated her beauty salon “Sara’s Styles Unlimited” beginning in the 1980s. She continued her passion of doing hair for 55 years on family, friends, and longtime clients.

Sara was an avid reader who could finish a book in a single day. She loved listening to Willie Nelson and singing along. She loved baking cookies and pies for her family, and no visit was complete without taking some home. She always kept the holiday season alive, surrounding our family with love, laughter, and memories we will cherish forever.

Sara was one of the biggest Pittsburgh Steelers fans around and loved football and sports of all kinds. Whether she was sewing, doing hair, baking something, or simply spending time with the people she loved most, she had a way of making everyone feel cared for. She taught us the importance of family, of showing up for one another, and of appreciating every moment spent together.

The love she gave, the memories she created, and the family she cherished will be her greatest legacy.

Sara is survived by her 4 daughters and their spouses. Heather DiGiacinto, Denise (Neven) Vidas, Erin (Kirk) Anstaett, and Terri (Tony) Barajas; 10 grandchildren, Cassandra (Chase) Blood, Nathan (Hope) Murguia, Gabriel Barajas, Justin (Katelyn) Anstaett, Jordan DiGiacinto, Jesse Barajas, Maya Vidas, Vincent Barajas, Julian Barajas, and Daniel Barajas; and 3 great-grandchildren, Jaxson Blood, Leilani Blood, and Scottie Murguia.

Sara was preceded in death by her parents, James and Helen Moorhead.
