Ruth Alita Giese, a remarkable and loving figure in the lives of many, was born on April 2, 1933, and left us on May 25, 2025. As we reflect on her journey, we remember a woman whose kindness and warmth touched the hearts of everyone she encountered. Her ability to engage in meaningful conversations made her a cherished friend and confidant. Ruth had an undeniable passion for volunteering, selflessly dedicating her time to organizations such as the Red Cross, the Kemmewick Flower Club, RNC, and the public library—each endeavor reflecting her desire to uplift and support her community.
Ruth found joy in simple pleasures, whether it was watching the birds flit gracefully through the trees, tending to her beloved flower garden, or getting lost in the pages of a good book. She lived her life with an appreciation for nature and a deep love of learning, inspiring those around her to cultivate their interests and embrace the world’s beauty.
Ruth is lovingly remembered by her family, including her son, Joseph Giese, and his wife, Debra; her grandson, Greg Dunaway, and his wife, Rachel; and her adored great-granddaughters, Arya and Gwen. While her husband, Lyons Harold Giese, along with her three sisters and one brother, have preceded her in death, their memories live on in the stories shared amidst her cherished family.
As we bid farewell to Ruth, we honor her legacy of kindness, her adventurous spirit, and the profound impact she made on everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her bright smile and nurturing heart will be deeply missed but will continue to shine through the lives of those she leaves behind.
