Roy D. Triggs Sr. of Springtown, Texas, passed away on August 20, 2026. Born in 1949 and originally from Fort Worth, Roy was a true Texas original whose reputation was built on muscle cars, Budweiser, Camel Shorts, and a lifetime of doing things his own way. Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Emory and Merdell Triggs; his brother, Emory Lee Triggs; his sister, Betty Esther Triggs Jones; and his son, Cotton Ray Davis. He is survived by four children, Roy Dell Triggs Jr., Rhonda Triggs, Tami Triggs, and Madison Triggs; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Everyone who knew Roy knew there was very little he could not build, repair, improve, or reinvent. He was known for his top-notch homebuilding, electronic ingenuity, hot rod mechanics, world-class barbecue, and more than a little redneck engineering to get the job done. Roy passed his technical knowledge, mechanical expertise, and creative problem-solving down to his children. They, in turn, passed those skills on to their own children, creating a legacy that will undoubtedly continue for generations to come. More than anything, Roy will be remembered for his fun-loving personality, quick wisecracks, and the silly expressions he made when he got himself laughing—as he so often did. Those memories, along with the remarkable skills, stories, and traditions he left behind, will remain in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
