Rory Daniel Dunham

Rory Daniel Dunham, 49, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, August 8, 2026 at home. He was born July 2, 1977 in Otter Tail, Minnesota. He grew up in Lebanon, Missouri where he attended school and graduated from Lebanon High School. After school, Rory established a long-standing career in the mortgage industry, spanning 20 years. His work ethic was unparalleled which ultimately catapulted him up the ladder in the companies he worked for.

Rory was one of the smartest and most talented people many have ever known, but what made him truly special was his character. He treated people with respect, listened when others needed to be heard, and always found ways to encourage those around him. He led with strength and compassion—a combination far rarer than it should be.

Outside of work, Rory’s generosity was just as impressive. He had a heart bigger than life itself and was always looking for ways to help others. Whether through Rotary, food pantries, industry charities, or countless acts of kindness that never made headlines, he gave freely of his time, energy, and resources. He believed in serving others and making his community better, and he lived that belief every day.

Anyone who knew Rory understood his love for his beloved fur babies, Cordie, Meeko, and Beatrix. On evenings and weekends, friends and family would most often find him soaking up every moment with them, cuddling them and showing them unconditional love.

Rory’s unconditional love extended far beyond his fur babies to his family and friends. He was deeply devoted to his mom and always made sure she had everything she needed. He also built a diverse network of friends whom he welcomed with open arms, lifting them up in difficult times and celebrating every success along the way. There was never a doubt that Rory was in your corner.

His family and friends will miss his huge heart, his enthusiasm, his sense of humor, and the genuine care he showed to everyone he encountered. The impact he had on those around him will not be forgotten. His legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched, the friendships he built, and the example he set for all who knew him.

Rory believed wholeheartedly in this statement: “God will send the right people into your life—blessed relationships that will build you up. He will bring you divine connections—people who will help propel you forward and help you reach your destiny.” For many left behind, Rory was one of those divine connections, and that will remain part of his lasting legacy.

He is survived by his mother, Earline Dunham; sisters, Leann Garmany and Brittany Dunham; extended family and a host of friends.
