Ronald "Ron" Rodney Rieman Jr., 69, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home in August 2025, taking his final flight.
Ron's journey began in Oregon, where his lifelong passion for aviation took root. At just 14, he joined the Civil Air Patrol, setting him on a course that would define his life. After graduating from Cottage Grove High School and the University of Oregon, he became a highly skilled pilot, flight instructor, and airplane mechanic. His dedication to flight extended to his service as a proud Marine fighter pilot for six years. After proudly serving his country in the military, Ron continued to live his dream as a captain for American Airlines. While his career was in the skies, Ron's heart was grounded in his family. He and his son, Kyle, shared a special bond, spending countless hours together fixing and flying airplanes. He also cherished his daily walks with his beloved wife, Luz, and their dog, Marlee. Their time together, enjoying each other's company, was a simple joy he treasured. Ron also loved reminiscing with his four sisters, who remember him as a protective brother who scared all the boys away.
Ron is survived by his beloved wife, Luz Rieman; his son, Kyle Rieman; his stepdaughter, Jessika Pratts; his mother, Doreen Caroline Rieman; and his sisters, Deb Crum, Sue Scoot, Cindy Harris, and Molly West. He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Rodney Rieman Sr. Ron will be forever remembered for his infectious love of flight and the deep affection he held for his family. He was a loving father, a dedicated husband, a protective brother, and a true friend. His spirit will continue to soar in the hearts of all who knew him.
