Robert Gene Farmer, 83, unexpectedly passed away, Saturday, August 2, 2025, in Gainesville. Born on August 5, 1941, in Belton, Texas, he was the son of George V. and Love May (Ratliff) Farmer, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also predeceased by his beloved wife, Reta (Carroll) Farmer, as well as his brothers Dean, R.B., Franklin, and David Farmer, and his sisters Hazel Anderson and Elaine Groves.
Robert grew up in Bell County and dedicated over 60 years of his life to his career as an over-the-road truck driver. Known for his outgoing nature and generous spirit, he had a knack for pulling pranks that brought joy to those around him. Robert was also a gifted storyteller, captivating listeners with his tales. In his leisure time, he cherished the outdoors, finding peace in hunting and fishing.
He leaves behind a loving family who will hold his memory dear, including Joey (Joyce) Farmer, Robin Farmer, Tammy Farmer, James Farmer, Shelley Farmer, Loney Briggs, Delois Thomas, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Robert will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
