Robert "Bob" Denton of Springtown, Texas, passed away on Thursday, June 18th, 2026. He was born in Le Mars, Iowa, on June 6, 1932. His parents preceded him in death. Bob joined the Army in 1952, serving with the 507th AAA battalion in the Korean War. Bob served 13 months overseas during the conflict, receiving several citations before returning to the States. Bob returned to Fort Worth after his military service and began working at General Dynamics. In July 1955, he met the love of his life, Paula Beneaux Denton, and married and raised a family. In 1960 Bob joined the Fort Worth Police Department, where he served for 13 years. During his tenure, he worked as a patrolman, K-9 officer, and Sergeant, receiving the Officer of the Year award in 1964. Bob left FWPD and worked in Dallas as an investigator until his retirement. After retirement, Bob traveled the country with Paula in their RV and enjoyed their farm in Springtown. Bob was a kind and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved animals, had a great sense of humor, and was dearly loved by his family. Bob is survived by his wife of 72 years, Paula; their children, Sheryl Sutherland and husband Robert, Donnie Denton and wife Trina, and David Denton; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
