William Henry Richman Jr., 90, of Springtown, best known as “Bill” by family and friends passed away, Tuesday, July 13, 2021. Bill is survived by, Harriet, his wife of 67 years. He was born March 27, 1931 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to William and Mabel Richman. Bill grew up in Amarillo, where, at fourteen he won the Soap Box Derby which landed him on a train to Akron, Ohio to compete in the national derby. Bill earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Colorado. While in college he was a member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity and played on the water polo team. He was a First Lieutenant in the United States Airforce who served during the Korean War and was awarded the National Defense Silver Medal. He was an employee for Cities Service Oil Company for 25 years. Bill had a big, boisterous laugh, was a great storyteller, and could, and would, talk to anyone about anything.Bill is proceeded in death by his sister Marcelia Wich, and her husband Harold. Bill is survived by his wife, Harriet Richman; daughters, Debbie Oldham and her husband Brian, and Julie Bergeron and her husband Bill, sons Mark Richman and his wife Peggy, and Allen Richman and his wife Laila. Bill was blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
