Peggy Highfill

Peggy Highfill, age 84, was born on September 27, 1941, in Poolville, Texas, to Eugene and Earlene Moore. She went to be with her Lord on June 15, 2026, in Decatur, Texas, leaving behind a legacy best summed up in three words: love, laughter, and smiles.

At just six months old, Peggy became a Saginaw girl - and a Saginaw girl she remained for the better part of her life. She was one of six daughters born to Eugene and Earlene, a sisterhood so spirited it became the stuff of local legend. Around Saginaw, they were known as the "Moore Girls." Within the family, they were simply "The Sisters" - a title that carried with it a lifetime of loyalty, laughter, and a bond that nothing could break. Peggy's working years spanned several chapters of her life, including Leonard's Department Store and Tandy Electronics, before she found her true stride at the Saginaw Senior Citizen Center. There, she didn't just clock in — she played, laughed, made lifelong friends, and ultimately retired with a full and grateful heart. In 2012, she made her home in Agnes, Texas, until she moved to Runaway Bay in 2020, where she lived life sweet and full. Where she lives, life is sure to be full. Those who knew Peggy knew that her favorite place on earth was the back porch - music playing, feet moving, Elvis and Josh Turner providing the soundtrack. She had a gift for making every gathering feel like a celebration, whether she was dancing with grandchildren, belting out a favorite tune, or simply filling a room with her presence. Joy followed her everywhere she went. But if you asked anyone in the family what she treasured the most, the answer comes without hesitation: the Sister Trips. Once a year, the sisters set out together - sisters only - for adventures filled to overflowing with love, laughter, and memories. And every week, without fail, there were game days that carried that same magic. These were the rhythms of Peggy's happiest days, and the memories her family will hold forever.

 Peggy is survived by her son Terry Highfill and daughter-in-law Sherri; her son Joey Highfill and daughter-in-law Cindy; her daughter Karen Burns and son-in-law Paul; grandchildren Joni, David, Phillip, Tucker Foley and wife Jazmine, Tanner Foley and wife Melissa, Amanda, Colten and wife Tiffany, Christopher and wife Alex, Christina and husband Blake, Justin and wife Kaleigh, Sarah, and partner Irene, and great-grandchildren Trey, Kyndel, Peyton, and Landon (in\ August), Malaki, Maleek, Kyler, Rachel, Lakyn, Hayes, Cohen, Charleigh, and Ace.;  sisters, Winnie Dulin and Margie Summers, Betty Loftus and, Melva Oshier. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, Don; her parents, Eugene and Earlene Moore; her sister Veta, and her brothers-in-law Jim, Richard, and Coy Summer and Cecil Dulin.
