Max Edwin Paschall, aged 75 years, passed away Sunday, December 1, 2024. He was born on November 29, 1949, to parents Willie Dalton Paschall and Lela Allene Heallen.
He is preceded in death by his mother, father, and brother, Winford Lee Paschall.
Max lived an incredible life, surrounded by family and friends who loved him dearly. He was born and raised in Austin, Texas; it was there he grew, loved, and began his family. Max was a graduate of William B. Travis High School, class of 1968. One year later, on July 25, 1969, he married Freddilee, enjoying 12 years together. Though they separated, they remained friends and raised two beautiful daughters who were, without a doubt, his pride and joy.
Max is fondly remembered for his wide array of hobbies and interests. In his younger years, he enjoyed competing in archery, singing in a barber shop quartet, and playing bass guitar and piano. Paschall fully immersed himself in all that music had to offer. Though his tastes were well rounded, Classic Rock was a particular favorite, creating a ripple effect for generations to follow. His daughters credit their love of all music to their dad. Alongside his affinity for music, Max was a car guy. Like most car guys, he loved hot rods. From old and sleek to fast and loud; cars held a special place in his heart. He was an avid drag racing fan, so much so that he made it a family affair. Max’s love for racing laid the foundation for “Family Style Racing”, the team lovingly built by Max and his two daughters, Jennifer and Aspen. Together, they spent many fun filled days at the drag strip, and when he wasn’t racing, he was watching. He enjoyed going to the races and created many memories with his girls and his grandsons.
Max leaves behind many who love and miss him.
Surviving him are his daughters Jennifer Norlie and Husband, Allan; Aspen Tarkington and Husband, Wes; Grandsons Jett and Raymond Tarkington; Sister-in-Law, Martha Paschall; Nephew, Dwayne Paschall and Wife, Whitney; Niece, Roxanne Uras and Husband, Lorenzo; Great Nieces Abby and Molly Paschall, and Chloe Uras; and ex-wife and lifetime friend, Freddilee Howell.
Along with his immediate family, he is also survived by a network of special friends who are extended family members. The Krewson, Bennett/Ball, Harris and Murray family’s will fondly remember their weekly “Friday Night Therapy” sessions not just for the games, but mostly gathering to be together.
