Donald Owens

Donald “Donny”Wayne Owens, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 26, 2021. He was at home with his family. Donny was born on June 4, 1949 to Billy Frazier and Florence “LaNelle” Owens in Borger, Texas. They were there to welcome him home.  He was survived by his loving wife, Pamela Owens, daughter, Amy McCarty and husband Mark, and his son, Bryan Owens. His brother, Ronny Owens and wife Kathy. His grandchildren, Kamryn Doggett, Jett McCarty and Izzy McCarty and his extended family and many friends. Don spent most of his life growing up in Azle (from the Rock school through high school) with the exception of his time serving in the US Air Force where he continued his education and earned his college degree in Minot, North Dakota. Some of his fondest memories were AHS marching band and his high school days. He remained friends with many of them. He loved being on the reunion planning committee and was their MC for most of them. His greatest achievement was his family. He loved being a dad and grandfather.  He was so proud of his children and grandchildren. He was active in his church,The Edge Church Azle and their mission, being “The touch of Jesus through intentional hospitality and compassion.”
