Olivia Alvarado, a cherished matriarch and vibrant spirit, graced this world from September 19, 1928, until her passing on July 22, 2025, in Azle, Texas. Her remarkable life was characterized by her feisty and independent nature, which she wielded with love and dedication as she nurtured her family. Olivia was not just a mother; she was a storyteller, captivating those around her with tales that bridged generations.
She found joy in cultivating the beauty of life around her—whether it be in the blooming plants of her garden, the fluttering birds in the sky, or the hearty meals she lovingly prepared for her grandchildren. Her hot cakes and tamales were legendary, a testament to the warmth she poured into every dish, creating a legacy of comfort that will linger long after her departure.
Olivia's family was her pride and joy, and she is survived by her devoted children: Olivia Zuniga, San Juana Alvarado, Rosa Alvarado, Cecilia Ruiz, Consuelo Sandoval, Juan Alvarado, Oscar Alvarado, and Martha Sandoval, as well as her loving daughter Hilda Rivera. Alongside them, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren cherish her memory, each carrying a piece of her spirit within them.
Olivia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Guadalupe Alvarado, and her dear children, Maria Luisa Alvarado, Guadalupe Alvarado, and Elva Sandoval. Their memories live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Olivia Alvarado will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever be remembered through the stories she shared and the love she imparted to all fortunate enough to be part of her life.
