Gerry (Tootie) O’Brien, 83, passed away, Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at his home in Springtown. Born, June 19, 1941 in Vandalia, IL. to Herschel and Elise O’Brien. They both preceded him in death along with his son, Perry O’Brien and siblings.
Gerry was a Navy Veteran who retired after 22 years with many honors, as an E-7, Chief Petty Officer. He loved serving his country, the Navy was his pride and joy.
His favorite past time was telling stories about all the ships he was on and, places he had been and things he had seen. Also watching or talking about Americas FAVORITE team the Dallas Cowboys (just don’t tell his wife, she would disagree).
After his time in the Navy he also went on to retire from General Dynamics, now known as Lockheed Martin which he was also proud that his grandson Ryan Cash also followed his steps an now works there as well.
He is survived by his wife, Carol “Candy” O’Brien; daughter, Karry Lamb and husband, Jerry; grandchildren, Dustin and wife Shavonne Lamb, Brittany and husband, Ryan Cash, Brandi and husband, Joey Sanford, Jackie and husband, Ronnie Crosby, Catherine Dawson, and bonus son, Bobby Olson; 15 great grandchildren; many who loved to pester him on his carport; Holden, Miley, Weldon (Cooper), Meyer and Von Cash, Judge, Justice and Cynthia Sanford, Tristin and Dakota Crosby, Braedon, Tatum and Raygen Brown, Landon and Ryan Lamb. Plus many loved 4 legged brats.
