Oscar Lee Obel, Jr., 83, fell asleep in the arm of his Lord and Savior, Thursday, January 5, 2024 in Springtown. He was born December 30, 1940 in Stephenville to Oscar Lee Obel, Sr. and Dorothy Faydailia Cox Obel. They both were there to welcome him home along with his daughter, Cara Obel and sisters, Barbara, Mary and Joyce. Oscar grew up in Fort Worth and served in the US Navy for 4 years, and then the Naval Reserves and retired after 22 years of dedicated service. He worked at Hurst TV and Appliance in Hurst for many years. Oscar was a faithful member of the Grace Point Baptist Church in Springtown where he sang in the choir. In his spare time you could find him working in the yard. He will be missed. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 36 years, Linda Diane (Stokes) Obel; son, Christopher Lee Obel and wife, Jaclyn; grandchildren, Lillian, Claire, Jackson and James; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
