Royal Preston Nix, 93, passed away, Sunday, October 4, 2020 at Decatur care center. He was born June 27, 1927 in Gilmer to C.S. and Mabel (Stewart) Nix. They both preceded him in death. He served in the US Navy. Royal is survived by his wife, Bettie (Parish) Nix; son, Richard Nix and wife, Angela; daughters, Belinda Self and husband, Rob an dToyu Karasek; sister, Willie Mae Arrington; and numerous grandchildren and extended family.
