Nellie Rhee Gatlin

Nellie Rhee (Brown) Gatlin, 89, passed away, Thursday,  June 12, 2025, in Decatur. A service honoring her life will be scheduled at a later date in Georgia.

Born on November 1, 1941, in Cuthbert, Georgia, Nellie was the cherished daughter of Albert Sidney and Garner Rebecca (Turner) Brown, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also predeceased by her beloved husband, Albert Leo Gatlin, as well as her brothers, Sydney and Lynwood Brown.

Nellie found joy in tending to her garden and spending time outdoors, which reflected her nurturing spirit and love for nature.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Sandra Morris; her son, Allen S. Gatlin, and his wife, Marcia; as well as her grandchildren, Richard, Amanda, and Rebecca, and her great-grandchildren, Mary Beth, Townes, Bixie, and Evan.

Nellie's legacy of love and devotion will continue to inspire her family and all who knew her.
