Decatur

Listen to Obituary

Mitzi Rebecca Robertson-Wingert, 73, of Decatur was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus on June 07, 2026, surrounded by her family.

Mitzi was born September 28, 1952 in Dallas, Texas. She was the middle daughter of Walter Robertson and Mildred Dorety-Robertson.

She was raised in Lewisville, and resided there until 2021, when she made the move to Decatur to be close to her family. She graduated Lewisville High School, where she proudly played the trombone in the LHS marching band.

While she loved shopping, spending time in Oklahoma at 'The Cabin', playing cards with 'the girls' and reading, her greatest joy in life was her family and being Nana to her three grandchildren.

Mitzi had a way of filling a room simply by stepping into it. Her voice and laughter carried and she would quickly let you know if you did something she did not appreciate. Her facial expressions often made us laugh, as did her random humming and singing. She was a devout Christian and loved spreading the word of the Lord.

Mitzi is preceded in death by her partner of 32 years, David, her parents, and her brother in law, Dickey Branch.

She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Jason and Mandy Wingert of Decatur, her three grandchildren Hunter (Emily), Averi and Easton Wingert; sister Haroldeen Branch; brother Clayton Robertson (Patty) and numerous loving friends and family members.
