Mirrisa Ann Waits

Mirrisa Ann Waits passed away at her home in Springtown, Texas, on Friday, May 29, 2026, at the age of 53. She will be remembered as a spirited woman who loved horseback riding, working in her flower garden, and creating magic in the kitchen. Her deep love for animals brought many cats and dogs into her life over the years, and she shared a warmth and affection that brightened the lives of those around her.

Mirrisa was born on January 2, 1973, in Turkey to Roy and Pamala (Johnson) Couvion. She and her four siblings spent most of their lives in Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband, Shaun Waits; her son, Austin; her daughter, Emily, and son-in-law, Cole, and granddaughter Rory; her sisters, Michelle and Ginny; her brothers, Roy and Eric; as well as extended family and a host of friends.
