Celestine Boyd Miller was born July 3, 1929 in Kendleton, Texas to the parentage of Rev. Caston Lee Benjamin Boyd, Sr. and First Lady Tommie Victoria Smith-Boyd; she was the eldest of seven children. Celestine retired from Harris Methodist Hospital (Texas Health Resources) after rendering 36 years of service as a nurse. She later re-joined the workforce for 10 years as a Charge Nurse at Wedgewood Nursing Home, where she retired again in 2010. During her nursing career, she also served as part time Charge Nurse at Stanford Convalescent Center and Park Plaza Care Center. Celestine was an accomplished pianist and taught piano; she was also a vocal soloist. She utilized her musical talent and expertise by serving as a church musician in Grand Prairie, Texas and Fort Worth, Texas for well over 30 years combined. She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Henry Earl Miller. She is survived by her only child, Evangelist Alice Victoria Miller and her only grandchild, Wayne Doyle Miller.
