Michael Charles Holtzman, a beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2025, in Decatur, Texas, at the age of 75. Born on August 11, 1950, in Las Vegas, New Mexico, Michael's life journey was marked by his deep love for family, friends, and the pursuits he cherished.
Michael graduated from Lewisville High School in 1968, where he was an active member of the Rodeo Club. Upon completing his education, he owned a boot shop and later on, a career that showcased his diverse talents. Initially taking to the road as an over-the-road truck driver, Michael’s career path eventually led him to become a sales manager for James Wood of Denton.
Raised in Lewisville, he found his soulmate in Kim, whom he married in 1989. Together, they raised a family in Corinth, Texas, before finally settling in Decatur. Michael was known for his kind and loving nature, qualities that made him a devoted husband and a nurturing father. He was not only a family man but also a friend to everyone he met, embodying a spirit of camaraderie that warmed the hearts of many. Michael was a member of the Men's Bible Study at Denton Bible Church, where he attended regularly, deepening his Christian faith.
Michael's interests were as varied and vibrant as his personality. He had a longstanding passion for rodeo, where he spent many years as a cowboy, riding broncs and bulls with great pride. His love for woodworking and travel also defined his hobbies, providing him with joy and fulfillment outside of his family and career.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kim Holtzman; daughters Dusty Fife and her husband James, and Shealee Greer and her husband Tony; sister Linda Bradford; grandchildren J.D., Ryder Cash, and, Casen; as well as nephews Michael and Jerry Bradford, and niece Heather Felton along with extended family and friends who cherish his memory.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry Holtzman and Imogene (Clark) Holtzman; his son, Shane Mullens; and his sister, Jerelyn.
As we remember Michael Charles Holtzman, we honor a life that was rich in love, passion, and dedication. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him and loved him dearly.
