Michael Myron Blatnick, Jr.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Myron Blatnick, who departed this life, Thursday, August 7, 2025, in the comfort of his home in Rhome, Texas. Born on December 31, 1937, in Akron, Ohio, Michael was the cherished son of Michael Myron Blatnick, Sr. and Sue (Baglash) Blatnick, both of whom have preceded him in death along with his brother, Carl Blatnick and sister-in-law, Nancy Blatnick.

Michael proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, embodying the values of courage and devotion. In 1998, his life took a beautiful turn when he married Tawana, his favorite waitress he met during breakfast gatherings with friends. Their connection blossomed into a love that led to their marriage. Michael also worked for Nokia and LTV in Grand Prairie.

Together, Michael and Tawana embraced a life in the countryside, creating a warm and loving home in Decatur. Michael found joy in the delightful company of his bird and cats, who brightened his days and reflected his gentle spirit.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Tawana J. (Bredrick) Blatnick, along with his dear sister, Cynthia Van Ryan and husband, Don; brothers, Dan Blatnick and Neil Blatnick and wife, Evelyn; beloved step-children, Katherine Conner and her husband Rob, Kenneth Vergos, Peter Vergos, and Michael Vergos. His legacy continues through his numerous grandchildren and extended family, all of whom will forever carry his memory in their hearts.

Michael's life was a testament to love, service, and joy. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him.
