Helen "Pink" Louise (Mauldin) McCarty, passed away, peacefully, Saturday, November 5, 2022, at her home at the age of 99. She was born to John "Jack" Henry Mauldin and Elma Blanche “Daisy” Allum Mauldin on July 31, 1923 in Fort Worth, Texas. She was the youngest of the 5 Mauldin sisters of Arlington Heights, Ft. Worth, Texas. She was baptized at a young age by the Rev. J. Frank Norris of the First Baptist Church of Fort Worth, Texas. She graduated from Arlington Heights High School in 1940. During World War II, Helen worked at the bomber plant, Consolidated Vultee (Lockheed-Martin), in the parts dept.
On Dec. 16, 1950, she married Oliver W. McCarty and to this union they had two daughters. In 1963, the family moved to Aurora, Texas and this is where Helen called home for the rest of her life. Helen was an excellent cook and was known for her coconut cream pie. She was a faithful member of Aurora Baptist Church.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 43 years, sisters; Dorothy Nail, Geraldine McElroy, Ruth Ashmore, Margie Griner; several nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her daughters; Martha McCarty of Aurora and Katy (Randy) Fairclo of Haltom City; grandchildren, Russell (Emily) Fairclo of Haltom City, Ross (Adrienne) Fairclo of Hurst, Angela (Jeff) Wienecke of Haltom City; great grandchildren, Levi Fairclo, Connor Fairclo, Michaela Fairclo, Alton Wienecke, Abbott Wienecke and Erin Wienecke; nieces; Janet Butler of Sigourney, lowa, and Betty Sherwood of Fort Worth; nephews, Gary Ashmore of Blum, Jim Nail of Aurora, Bob McElroy of Fort Worth and Dale McElroy of Burleson.
