Mary Matthews

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS -- Mary Ruth Jones Matthews, 77, a loving and faithful wife, mother, sister and grandmother, was welcomed home by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Sunday, October 23, 2016. Mary was born July 17, 1939 in Sulpher, Oklahoma to Elmer and Ophelia Beatrice Higgins Jones. They both preceded her in death along with her sons, Ronnie Matthews, Roger Matthews and Charles Shannon Matthews; and granddaughter, Shana Latta. Mary was a people person and always had an encouraging word to share. She worked with JC Penny in the catalog department, until they noticed she had a cheerful personality and moved her to the sales department. Later, she worked at Sanger Harris and managed the shoe department. She loved her family and spent many vacations that held wonderful memoriies to her husband and children. Left to cherish her memory is her devoted husband of 60 years, Charley L. Matthews; loving daughter, Sharon Latta and her husband, Rick; daughter in law, Lelani Matthews; siblings, Patricia, Beatrice, Ronnie, Joy, Linda and Darrell; granchildren, Sean Mattehws, Sr., Mary Ryon Winkler and husband, Stephen, Dillon Latta, Cassandra Minyard and husband, Wesley, Jacob Mathews and Samantha Matthews; great grandchildren, Colton, Keeley, Layton Joseph, Sean Jr., Caden, Logan and Jayden.
