**Obituary for Matt Stone**

Matt Stone was born on October 23, 1940, in Meridian, Mississippi, to Mathias James Stone, Jr. and Lillie Mae Shearer Stone. He faced the early loss of his father at the age of 16 but found strength and support through his stepfather, Robert Rives Taylor, Jr., who adopted him as an adult.

Matt pursued his passion for engineering and graduated from Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering. He dedicated 30 years of his career to Lockheed Martin, where he served diligently as a Program Manager for MLRS. Following his retirement, he continued to contribute to his community as a part-time financial assistant at the First United Methodist Church of Arlington for four years.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Matt cherished his time spent with friends and family. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing bridge with his Sunday night group. Engaging his mind, he loved working on crossword puzzles and participating in Bible studies, embodying a spirit of generosity through volunteering at his church.

He is survived by his best friend, Krisha Harlan; his daughters, Alicia Soueid and Susan Stone; and his beloved grandchildren, Andrew and Sophie Soueid, and Emily Stone Torres and husband Arturo. He also leaves behind his sister, Barbara Pino, and husband Faustino, along with nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives and dear friends.

Matt Stone will be remembered fondly for his kindness, intelligence, and unwavering dedication to his family and community. He touched the lives of many, and his legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
