Jimmy Mason

March 21, 1962 — August 29, 2021

Jimmy Don Mason, 59, crossed his last river to Heaven on Sunday, August 29, 2021, his favorite day of the week. He was born March 21, 1962 in Texas City, Galveston County to Morris and Mary Nell Mason he was the oldest of six children. He graduated from LaMarque High School in 1981 and then attended East Texas Baptist University until God changed his direction. Jim then received his Bachelor’s of Religious Education in 1997 from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He later earned a Master’s in Public Administration in 2011 from Bellevue University. Jim worked in construction the majority of his life. Jim LOVED tractors and enjoyed all aspects of homesteading. He was an excellent cook and passed that on to Stephanie and Sam. Jim spent many hours over the years guiding canoe trips on the San Marcos River with numerous boys and young men through his ministry with Texas Baptist Men and always shared the Gospel with them He was a loving husband, proud father and great friend to many. He will be sorely missed. He is survived by his wife, Pam Mason of Azle; daughter, Stephanie Soileau and husband, Stephan of Concord, California; son, Matt Mason of Houston; son, Sam Mason of Azle and many friends, too numerous to count.
