Mary Jean Alexander McCraw, 89, a homemaker, passed away, peacefully, Tuesday, July 28, 2026 in Fort Worth. She was born June 15, 1937 in Fort Worth. Her father, James Rolene Alexander, Sr. and mother, Ella Marie Day and her husband, James Day preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death are her husband of 60 years, David Eugene McCraw; infant sister, Jameslynn Alexander; brothers, James Rolene Alexander Jr. and wife, Norma Jean and Larry Joe Alexander; aunt, Helen McCraw and husband, LeRoy “Mac”; brother-in-laws, Jack McCraw and wife, Millie and Frank Smith and wife, Linda. Mary Jean was a life long resident of Fort Worth. Though she and David never had any children, she loved when all of her nieces and nephews came to visit. She always had a smile on her face, big hugs, lots of laughter and standing at the door waving as you left. Though we will miss her dearly, we know that she is in no more pain and is completely healed. She is survived by her sisters, Jackie Willis and husband, Roger and Alice McKay; brother, Charles Day; sister-in-law, Annette Young and husband, Gary; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
