Kim Markhardt

Kim Patrick Markhardt, 62, passed away, Monday July 08, 2024, in Weatherford, Texas. He was born to James and Vaye Jean Markhardt on September 01, 1961, in Mitchell, South Dakota. Kim was a 1979 graduate of Ballard Huxley High School. He attended Iowa State University and graduated with a degree in Metallurgical Engineering in 1988, after serving 3 years in the US Army. After graduation from ISU, Kim re-enlisted in the US Army 82nd Airborne. His time in the service saw him deployed to Panama, Desert Storm, Germany and Bosnia. After spending nearly 15 years in the service and obtaining the rank of Captain, Kim retired from active duty and lived the rest of his remaining life in Weatherford, with his dogs he cherished so much. Kim is survived by his father, James Markhardt and younger brother Kevin Markhardt (Sharon), nephew Nicklaus Markhardt and niece Melissa Markhardt (Kristian). Kim was preceded in death by his mother Vaye Jean Markhardt and grand parents Don and Lucille McQueen and Alvin and Margaret Markhardt. Kim will be honored during a military service to be held at Dallas/Ft. Worth National Cemetery.
