Margaret L. Bryant

Margaret Laverne Bryant, 88, of Azle, Texas, found rest in the arms of the Lord, Friday, January 2, 2026.

Margaret was born in Hugo, Oklahoma on September 26, 1937, to Chater and Myrtle Hurtt. She was the fourth of seven children and the only daughter born to Chater and Myrtle. On December 25, 1954, Margaret married Delbert Bryant in Fort Worth, Texas. Margaret and Delbert raised 6 children together on Fort Worth’s Northside. They were happily married for 45 years before Delbert’s passing in 2000.

Margaret lived a life of service. She worked as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service for nearly 20 years serving the Northside of Fort Worth. Margaret served the Lord and the community as a member of Briar Church of Christ for 5 decades where she was active in the Women’s Club and volunteered at nursing homes.

Margaret had many hobbies which brought her joy. Margaret and Delbert spent their later years traveling across the United States, but their destination of choice was anywhere with mountains. Margaret greatly enjoyed gardening, jigsaw puzzles, and playing games such as Scrabble or dominoes. However, Margaret’s joy in life was being surrounded by her family.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Delbert Bryant; her son, Norman Bryant; her parents, Chater and Myrtle Hurtt; brothers Clifton, Melvin, Louis, Ronnie, and Jerry; and grandson Tommy Bell.

Margaret is survived by her children, daughter Donna Bell and partner, Jerry Sewall; daughter Eva Frambach; daughter Katy Sanders and husband, Garry; son Terry Bryant; daughter Jenell Tschoepe and husband, Jimmy; stepdaughter Debbie Dunn; brother Roland Hurtt and wife, Darlene; 16 beloved grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
