Ronnie Mackey Sr

Ronnie Gene Mackey 65, a loving father, brother, grandfather, and uncle, passed away, Sunday, April 28, 2019. Funeral: 11 a.m. Saturday at Alexander’s Midway, Springtown. Visitation: 6-8 p.m Friday. He was born June 17, 1953 in Hico to Doyle and Helen (Karibou) Mackey. They both preceded him in death along with a great granddaughter, Brooklynn Andrews. Ronnie had a love for life. He enjoyed coaching his son and many others in baseball. Ronnie was a police officer in Azle along with working with the Tarrant County Sheriffs Department and retiring as Chief of Police in Sansom Park. Ronnie spent many days at rodeos, play days and speed skating with his children. He is survived by his daughter, Tammie Mackey Garcia and husband, Juan; son, Bubba Mackey and wife, Jessica; sisters, Dorothy Lupton and Denise McNeal; brother, Larry Mackey and wife, Karen; grandchildren, Ricky, Lauren, Landon, Aiden, Ethan and Juan Jr.; great grandchildren, Alexis and Paislee; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
