Rudolph Werner Louwien Jr. 84, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2022 in Decatur.
Werner was born November 1, 1937 in Galveston to Rudolph Werner Louwien, Sr and Ruth Johnston Louwien. He graduated from Bishop High School and received his Business degree from Texas A & I University in Kingsville. Werner then joined the United States Air Force as a commissioned officer serving as a Navigator. He was a devoted husband and father to his wife Alma Estelle Louwien and their five children. Werner was an active member of Springtown FUMC for over 55 years. He served the church as Sunday School teacher, Choir Director, choir member, Bell Choir, Quartet and Church Treasurer. He shared his gifted woodworking skills by making several pieces of furniture for the Lord’s Acre each year. He also served as Boy Scout troop leader as his four sons were growing up. He was a car and motorcycle enthusiast.
Werner was predeceased by his parents, one sister, and his beloved wife Alma Louwien on May 3, 2020.
He is survived by daughter, Venice Simmons and husband Harold; sons Jay Louwien and wife, Suzanne, Robert Louwien and wife, Cherylanne, Steve Louwien and David Louwien and wife, Sherry; grandchildren Celeste (Clay) Taylor, Clint (Julie) Simmons, Kirk (Jennifer) Louwien, Amanda (Matt) Farmer, Brelin (Kasey) Louwien, Devin Louwien, and Dawson Louwien; and fourteen Great Grandchildren.
