Maurice Lindsey

April 4, 1934 — August 5, 2024

Maurice Cook Lindsey, best known as “Paw Paw Mo” to his grandsons and all their friends, passed away on August 5, 2024, at his home in Springtown at age 90.

Born April 4, 1934, in Springtown, Texas, to Opal Cross Lindsey and Ward Lindsey, Sr., he was preceded in death by his brothers Ward Lindsey, Jr., Charlie Lindsey, and his sister Martha Lindsey Davis.

Left to miss him are his devoted wife of 67 years, Jeanine Hamilton Lindsey; his beloved daughter Gina Lindsey Carpenter, son-in-law Clay Carpenter, grandsons Kellen Carpenter and wife Kortni, Haden Carpenter and wife Kelsey, great-grandchildren Logan and Lennon Carpenter, and brother-in-law Allen Hamilton and wife Suzanne of San Antonio.

Mr. Lindsey graduated from Springtown High School, where he was basketball team captain. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving six years at Fort Bliss, Texas, and Fort Sheridan, Illinois. He owned and operated Lindsey Heating and Air for over fifty years, was a member of the Eureka Masonic Lodge 371 for over half a century, and was also a member of the Scottish Rite.

Maurice loved fishing, hunting, and golf, but even more, he loved his family and friends. He will be remembered as honest, honorable, and always there for those who needed him. He never forgot a friend. Anyone who knew him would agree that the world was a better place because he was in it. He will be missed.

Celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Remember me in your heart:
Your thoughts, and your memories,
Of the times we loved,
The times we cried,
The times we laughed.
For if you always think of me, I will never have gone.”
~Margaret Mead
