Listen to Obituary

No public services will be held for Linda Ellen Sweeney, 79, of Springtown, Texas, who passed away in Fort Worth on September 5, 2026. Born on October 18, 1946, in Milford, Connecticut, she was the beloved daughter of the late Francis and Evelyn Sweeney.

A fiercely independent woman, Linda lived life to the fullest and entirely on her own terms. She possessed an adventurous spirit, a kind heart, and a deep compassion for all animals. Linda embraced everything about Texas—whether moseying around the Fort Worth Stockyards, listening to country music at Billy Bob’s, kicking back with a Shiner Bock at Rosie’s Rock House, sipping sweet tea, or admiring the Texas sky ablaze at sunset. In her later years, Linda discovered a love of traveling and exploring, especially by cruise ship. She cherished the destinations, the excitement of new adventures, and most of all, the precious memories made along the way.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved dog, Brody, who undoubtedly greeted her at the Rainbow Bridge.

She is survived by her older sister Patricia P. Urbonas (Michael); her six children: Amy Brenner-Fricke (Stephen), Karin Viscuso (Mark), Richard Brenner (Marisa), Jason Brenner (Paula), Joshua Brenner (Amy), and Timothy Brenner (Alejandro); 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; her dear friends who became family, Candis Jarvis, Breann Orr (Jesse), and Brenda Jones; and her two loyal dog companions, Coco and Levi.

A celebration of Linda's life will be held at a later date. Burial services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Linda’s honor to the SPCA of Texas.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
