Linda Sue Gatsos, a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on May 24, 2025, in Fort Worth, Texas, at the age of 78. Born on December 16, 1946, in Galion, Ohio, Linda's journey through life was marked by loving devotion to her family and friends, as well as a profound commitment to her career in nursing and floral design.
A proud graduate of Galion High School in 1964, Linda continued her education at the Riverside Hospital Nursing Program, where she cultivated her passion for caring for others. Throughout her nursing career, Linda dedicated herself to the well-being of those around her. Her professional journey also led her to work alongside her dear friend Holli Ackerman at Paynes Florist and Flowers International. Their bond was a testament to Linda's warmth and love, extending to Holli’s daughters, Carlie and Correy, who held a special place in her heart.
On August 9, 1968, Linda married Lt. Col. George Gatsos, USAF, forging a partnership that would span decades and traverse various states, including Ohio, North Carolina, California, and Texas. Together, they raised their two beloved children, Lauri and Greg, creating a nurturing environment filled with love and support. Linda's involvement in the Officer's Wives Club exemplified her dedication to not only her family but also her community, where she made many lasting friendships.
Linda's talents were manifold; she had a unique flair for interior decorating that brought joy to every holiday season. That was her greatest passion . Her artistic spirit shone through her painting, sewing, and needlepoint, as well as her skillful refinishing of furniture. She had a special place in her heart for her pets, Lady, Trixi, Zsa Zsa, Bailey, and Kiki. Additionally, Linda was celebrated as a great cook, relishing the moments she spent preparing meals for her family, creating memories that will linger in the hearts of her loved ones.
Linda is survived by her adoring daughter, Laura Skoracki, and son-in-law, Roman; her devoted son, Greg Gatsos, and daughter-in-law, Lorena; and her cherished grandchildren, Lukas, Alexander, Lauren, and Lindsey, who will carry her love forward in their lives.
Linda's passing leaves a profound emptiness in the hearts she touched and the lives she enriched. Her legacy of love, kindness, and strength will forever resonate in the memories of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.
