Linda Rose Booth (born Johnson), age 85, passed away peacefully on March 3rd, 2026
in Bowie, Texas.
Born on January 12, 1941, in Memphis, Tennessee, Linda lived a remarkable life with
love for her family, career, and community.
She is survived by her son, David W. Johnson and daughter-in-law, Laurel (Gebhart)
Johnson. Sisters, Wanda (Johnson) Demetrion and husband Tom Demetrion, Barbara
(Johnson) Schieron and Sheila Johnson, sister-in-law. Grandchildren, Jayden Johnson
and Kelsey Johnson. Nephew, Matthew Demetrion, and his wife Stephanie Demetrion.
Linda is predeceased by her parents, Mildred Louise Johnson and Fontaine Martin
Johnson. Brother Fontaine Martin Johnson, Jr.
Linda proudly served her country as an X-ray technician in the United States Air Force.
Stationed at Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, California. She was honorably
discharged in 1962. Following her military service, Linda resided in Mississippi,
Louisiana, Florida, and Tennessee. Eventually, she found Texas to be her home.
Linda followed her passion for cooking and became a chef in Mississippi River
Towboats for Flowers Transportation and later Spartan Transportation. Her culinary
skills and a warm personality left a lasting impression on those she worked with during
her time on the river.
Linda loved music and family most of all. Her generosity of spirit and gentle demeanor
made her a beloved presence in the lives of everyone she met. May her legacy of
kindness continue to inspire those whose lives she touched.
