Landa Karol (Depew) Butler passed away peacefully on May 7, 2026, in Decatur. Born on December 21, 1943, Landa lived a life marked by determination, resourcefulness, and an infectious zest for living. She embraced each day to the fullest, forever the social butterfly who found joy in every celebration and gathering.

Throughout her many years, Landa dedicated herself to a career in retail, where her resilient spirit and unwavering work ethic left an indelible mark. Beyond her work, she delighted in the simple pleasures that brought her happiness: shopping sprees, journeys to vibrant cities like Las Vegas and New Orleans, and the thrill of horse racing. These passions underscored a life lived with enthusiasm, curiosity, and joy.

Landa was married to her beloved husband, David Butler, for 36 wonderful years, a testament to their enduring love and partnership. Though David preceded her in death, the memory of their shared years remains a cherished chapter in her story. She was also the daughter of James Depew and Mildred (Compton) Depew, whose legacy she carried forward with pride.

She leaves behind a loving family who were the center of her heart. Her children—Maria Densmore Concha and her husband Albert, John Anthony Densmore Jr., and Michelle Densmore Fraizer and her husband Shannon—stand as a testament to her nurturing and devoted nature. Grandchildren Justin Densmore and his husband Kyle, Aaron Densmore and his wife Carla, Emiley Densmore and her husband Dwayne, Klayton Densmore and his wife Rebekah Nunez, Chelsea Concha and her partner Dominique, and Alaina Concha carry her memory forward. Among her great-grandchildren, Emma, Leighton, Lincoln, and Sonny continue to bring light into the lives intertwined with hers. Her brother Jimmy Depew.
